In the age of rapid technological advancements, one can't help but notice the increasing popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) across a slew of industries. From streamlining processes to enhancing user experiences, AI has undoubtedly made remarkable strides and we should expect to experience more.
AI is also revolutionizing video production, offering innovative tools and techniques that simplify processes and expand creative possibilities. In our role of corporate video production, our collective jaws drop when discovering some of the early AI software that's now available. The rise of AI-powered software has made it easier than ever to generate high-quality content, including 2D animation, 3D animation, and even live-action footage. Automated processes such as scene recognition and automated editing will undoubtedly contribute to the efficiency and speed of video production.
But technological innovation has hit the film/video industry many times in the past. 3D has had instances of significant interest going all the way back to 1903. AI, however, is a much more serious development. I believe that you'll see the production quality of videos increase due to various AI elements that are utilized within the process. But there's an area that AI will simply never be able to touch and that's the human element.
No amount of AI technology can replace the creative minds and experiences of human professionals. The process of crafting an organizational video involves understanding the client's objectives, target audience, and brand identity. By working closely together, video agencies can develop concepts, storyboards, and scripts that effectively communicate the desired message. Human creativity brings a level of depth, emotion, and storytelling that AI-generated videos struggle to replicate.
A great example of being unable to reproduce human creativity are the wave of films in the 2010s where visual effects dominated the production. Those films are generally impressive visually and technically, but don't connect with viewers, who happen to be human. At the end of the day, what's left is a generally lifeless product.
Further, for organizational video production, it's essential to recognize that the true power lies in the collaborative efforts between a video agency and its client. While AI can automate certain aspects of video production, there won't be an AI tool that understands the unique values, goals, and brand identity of a company. By fostering a collaborative relationship, a video agency can tap into the expertise and vision of their clients, resulting in videos that truly resonate with the intended audience.
Building trust and confidence is paramount in any video production endeavor. By working collaboratively, a video agency can ensure that their clients' expectations are met, or even exceeded. The iterative process of feedback and revisions allows for constant refinement and improvement. This level of involvement instills confidence in clients, knowing that their vision is being realized and their message effectively conveyed. The essence of collaboration between video agencies and clients remains irreplaceable and will always hold AI at (human) arms length.
